Service Description

Our most popular photography course and the ideal introduction for anyone who wants to move beyond the cameras Auto mode and start taking better and more creative photos. The morning session focuses on the essential camera theory covering topics such as exposure (aperture, shutter and ISO), focus modes and more, and is followed by a practical session that includes an introduction to low light and night photography. ​ What you will learn How to control your cameras exposure when shooting in changing light (including night photography) using aperture, shutter speed and ISO (the exposure triangle). The advantages of using the manual versus auto, focusing modes and selective focusing, understanding lens focal length and which lenses should I use and why, depth of field, using and understanding ISO. ​ Camera Requirements: A Mirrorless, DSLR or micro four-thirds camera is recommended, as they offer the necessary manual functions. While smaller 'bridge cameras' are also welcome, it's advisable to confirm with us before securing your spot. Tripods and loan cameras can be arranged upon request. No previous camera or photography knowledge required. Location : South bank cultural centre and parklands, Brisbane Course duration : 8 hours Class size : 6

Cancellation Policy

If you have to cancel your booking then we will be happy to offer a place on another course/workshop or a full refund providing that we are given at least 6 days notice. No refunds are possible for cancellations made within 6 days of the course date or for no-shows. Photo Genius Pty Ltd reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any photography course or workshop due to bad weather, tutor illness or inadequate enrolment. In the case of cancellations refunds will be made available upon request (with the exception of cancellation due to poor weather.) Wet weather policy If a course or workshop has to be cancelled due to bad weather then participants may choose to attend another course/workshop at a later date as listed on our website. Sorry but we are unable to offer refunds on courses or workshops cancelled or re-scheduled due to bad weather. All refunds transactions are made via PayPal.
